The highly-anticipated Bauma China 2010 international heavy equipment expo started on Tuesday at the Shanghai New Expo Center (SNIEC).

More than 1,860 exhibitors from 37 countries were expected to participate in the expo, which ends on Friday, and more than 130,000 trade visitors were expected at the 23,0000-square-meter SNIEC.

The number of exhibitors and the extensive area of the expo center have made the exhibition one of the largest of its kind in the world.

Exhibitors will display new products ranging from construction machinery and building material machines to construction vehicles and equipment. Products displayed at the expo aim to attract buyers not only from construction but also mining and agriculture companies.

The biennial expo presents products from many globally-renowned heavy equipment producers such as Indonesian market leader Komatsu from Japan, Volvo Construction Equipment from Sweden as well as local Chinese companies, such as the Sunward Group, Foton Lovol and Lonking (Fujian) Machinery.
